Inspiring the Next Generation: 2025 Science Fair Highlights
Honoring 66 Years of Innovation and Curiosity


The 2025 Synopsys Science & Technology Championship, managed by the Santa Clara Valley Science & Engineering Fair Association (SCVSEFA), brought together 977 students from 81 schools across Santa Clara County. These middle- and high-school innovators presented 676 projects at the San Jose Convention Center South Hall on March 13, 2025, exploring topics from renewable energy to medical innovation.


A Legacy of Achievement


Successfully completing its 66th year, the Fair continues a Silicon Valley tradition of inspiring young minds. Top winners advanced to state, national, and international competitions and showcased their talent among the world’s brightest young scientists and engineers.

  • Vrishank Chandrasekhar earned the prestigious Dudley R. Herschbach SIYSS Award at the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), in Columbus, Ohio, the week of May 10, 2025. He earning an invitation to Nobel Week in Stockholm for his project OncoNote: Early Pan-Cancer Prognosis Prediction.
  • Zooey Lan and Anya Lee were named Junior Division Project of the Year at the California Science & Engineering Fair (CSEF) in Thousand Oaks, CA on April 13, 2025.
  • Fifteen Synopsys students were named Top 300 semi-finalists in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (JIC), with Akhil Nagori, Evann Sun, Lucas Yen, and Christine Wang advancing to the national Top 30 finalists in Washington, D.C. to compete the week of October 24, 2025.

More than 250 volunteer judges and 100 event volunteers made this year’s Fair possible. Scientists, engineers, educators, and parents working together to celebrate the next generation. SCVSEFA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a 4-star (97%) Charity Navigator rating, demonstrating both integrity and impact.
